Caribbean Christmas in Sussex
Previously been here and had the regular weekday menu and the Sunday lunch menu, all of which have been excellent. Christmas meal today. Chef Curtis has included some traditional Caribbean dishes in the Christmas menu, so I had the Guyanese Pepperpot, and Geoff had Bajan Jugjug as part of his meal. Both were sooo good! Booked the Christmas menu again for next week, and looking forward to trying some of the other dishes on it.

I can't believe this is our local!
We are so lucky to have a great pub a few minutes walk. The food is good, the beer is good, very welcoming and great service.
Thank you Mark and Curtis and the team. Keep doing what you do!

Warm and friendly pub.
Friendly atmosphere. Sunday lunch was amazing. Vegetarian Wellington was home made with a delicate spice.
The landlords are extra warm and welcoming.
Couldn’t rate this place any higher. We felt at home instantly.

Well worth a visit
Finally, we have a landlord(s) with some personality, after some recent disasters. The service was great , which made the evening even more enjoyable. The pub has been tastefully decorated and has a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere. Oh, and yes the food was excellent. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed it. For those of you, who have avoided this pub in the past, it is well worth giving it another go. Can’t wait to go back. (ps they also serve my favourite beer!).

Excellent. A transformation!
Excellent Sunday lunch. All the food was delicious. Sensible prices, friendly staff.
It has taken literally decades for anyone to take a few sensible steps to give the restaurant the calm and welcoming ambience it now has. What a relief!!

Wonderful food and great owners - GO!!
We arrived on a cold and wet day and were greeted at the door by one of the owners — Curtis — who immediately set us up with hot tea. We then ordered a delicious and filling meal. My husband had the carrot and cardaman soup and a beet and warm goat cheese salad. I had the fish and chips. Everything was so good. We loved it all. Then the other owner — Mark showed me around their beautiful establishment and caught me up on the ghosts!! Ha ha.
All charming and delicious. Special thanks for both yummy food and gracious care.
